My Self Evaluation

February 26, 2008

Design Specifications Evaluation:

I think I followed my design specifications well; or more like followed my ideas well, because I wanted to send out a message and be a little artistic and original, and I didn’t want my podcast to sound all too serious. I guess this worked out. Also, I recorded and published my podcast and reached the deadline – and those were most likely Mrs. Wilson’s main design specifics. I also followed through every step on the assignment sheet. I made a plan and the schedule for it also, but this didn’t work out totally. I did everything in the plan but reach the scheduled dates for them. I caught up at the end though; luckily. Next time I could try working on this at school because then I could have more internet access.

Evaluation against stages of the project:

          A. Investigation: 4 because I didn’t describe four to six podcasts I listened to ; I described 3 as the guide said. My test was more simple than detailed even though it involved questions that relate to most if not all ways that I could work out for my test.

          B. Design: 6 because I justified my chosen designs and described my ideas as full as I could.

          C. Plan: 6 I had my plan and everything that should’ve gone with it. I had a conclusion column where I justified why/why not I could/couldn’t do it.

          D. Create: 6

Self Evaluation Test

1>> How clear it isI think it was pretty clear, even though it wasn’t the clearest. I tried my best on speaking loud and clear but my voice is just not loud. =/ If I tried louder it would sound like I’m shouting. I guess it was as clear as it could be in my case. The sound quality was pretty good I think. There was no background noise when I spoke. I adjusted the headsets right! ^^
2>> What message it tries to send
Smile ! I guess I could always go deeper than this though. Like choosing a completely different topic!

3>> How powerful the message was presented
I would say an 8/10 being generous to myself :P. The podcast took me forever to edit; both sound and visual. I don’t think the message was that powerful, but it works. Perhaps I should’ve spent even more days on doing this than thinking over it.

4>> Was it original? Or just another cliché?I don’t think it was a cliché because this isn’t something presented often or said over and over again. There is new information in it! Woohoo! J I guess I could always be even MORE original in thought, like do more research.

5>> Could it have been more artistic and imaginative than what it is?Well, I believe that there could always be someone way more artistic and imaginative on the subject. But I did what I could with the deadlines. I could’ve worked on it after school. But I guess I can barely concentrate there.

6>> How much effort was spent on itWell, even though I tried to cramped it all up in one day, I think I did a pretty good job because I spent hours on it. It’s also not my fault when my internet sucks ^^. I think I spent as much effort on it as anyone else did; I did my research, kept a development diary, followed my plan (if not deadlines!) and recorded + published.

7>> Did the author have fun in the making process?Yeah! I got to do what I liked; free to do what I want with some guides given and that’s what’s makes it awesome. It’s more of a personal project than a school project project. I was able to express myself so I liked it (although not all the way through – I spent ages on it… in one day! Eep.) I also had fun because I could add the visuals I wanted and present what I wanted the audience to hear. Well. Kind of…. I just didn’t want it published over the internet because that means a lot of people can hear my voice, which sounds… special… especially when it’s been recorded by a device.

Overall, I think I deserve about a 6.5/7… being somewhat generous to myself and still a little judgemental. ^^

I guess an overall for all of my self evaluations, I did quite well. Mainly because I knew I tried… and that justifies me already. Perhaps a 5/6 or 6/6 is what I could get. At least I hope. Like everybody else does! :P

Why is it only half way finished? I need your opinion. Please make suggestions/tips/advice/critiques, etc. on my script and podcast. Hope you guys’ll like it! =)

That was total randomness like Tom Cruise but I hope you liked it. Ok so that was the intro finished. Let’s begin!! Oh yes. And a word or two or three or four, etc. of warning first. It will either be a bore for you or highly inappropriate for your level of maturity (literally~! Just kidding). Thanks! Enjoy.

What makes a good morning for you? Is it your pet dog waking you up every morning with a lick to the face? Is it mom preparing delicious breakfast waffles? Is it dad preparing bacon especially for you today? Is it your neighbor greeting you a ‘good morning’? Is it music to your ears? Is it your birthday today? Was it a good dream? Did you scare yourself with a great morning hair-do? Watched a great morning show? Is it simply a thought of a new day, or was it smaller than all these – a genuine smile on someone’s face? *True Colors - Cindy Lauper music with pictures*

Either way, I’ll let you in on a little research. There are 18 different kinds of smiles a person’s face can demonstrate – but only one unique one can make you happy. It is the only smile that releases ‘pleasant’ hormones from your left brain and the one that will lift your mood. But how can you tell which one? Simple. Smile like you mean it - with your lips, cheeks, and even eyes! Practice smiling and you could feel the different smiles – only one can feel light but awesome at the same time! Let your instincts judge for you the natural, genuine smile from the false one.

So remember folks, despite all the happy/sad sad/happy factors in life – adding in a few smiles to your morning routine can make things wayyyy easier for you!
