Podcasts are created by ‘podcasters’ and they can be listened by anyone who has access to the internet, a computer, and or a portable media device. They are used for pretty much anything involving the media. They are used by individuals as a fun time-passer blog, a serious hobby, or they may be used by professional companies for commercial programming. Podcasts are programs usually used to store contents from a website to a computer or portable media device that can store MP3 files for playback. They are usually used for iPods. The main idea is that podcasts are often audio related, but they can be used for any kind of files whatsoever, including software updates, pictures, and videos.

How you can make a podcast:

My task is to create a podcast to a topic related to my likings such as animals, sports, different ways of life, dancing, martial arts, drawing, painting, etc. It is essential for me to learn how to create a podcast because there are laws that also involve in podcasting, and without the proper knowledge of how it is made or so, I may not be able to make a decent podcast or may not get it to distribute so other podcasters or simply listeners can listen to them.
Due to slow internet and a list of downloads that tend to take up to hours, for now I’ll try to describe the 3 podcasts that I really want to see. Most of them are from National Geographic.
- 1. National Geographic. “Wild Chronicles.” Living with Elephants. 1 Feb 2008. National Geographic. 6 Feb 2008. <iTunes>
Ok, now that I’ve realized that some youtube files do work, I’m glad that I can say I have a lot in mind of what I want to add!
Guetta, David. “DavidGuetta”. Love Don’t Let Me Go. 23 May 2007. DavidGuetta. 6 Feb 2008. <http://youtube.com/watch?v=L0VmaJsPWbY>
- It’s about: music - techno, dancing, love.
- It appeals to me because the beat makes you feel energized and the video clip of the dancers make it amazing.
- I found it on youtube a while back, but the first time I saw version was on TV.
- This was an only one time publish, but many users on youtube seem to upload it a lot because they think it’s awesome or so. :))
- David Guetta is a techno DJ! :))
Nadine. “Nayders07”. Bathroom Routine. 8 May 2007. Nayders07. 6 Feb 2008. <http://youtube.com/watch?v=vP9veyw7sKg>
- It’s about: a hilarious bathroom routine where Nadine (the girl that records these videos) dances her way through a techno song while getting her bathroom routine done! :D.
- It appeals to me because I thought of it as that I wanted to do, because it was like a burst of hyperactivity and it seems to be an awesome way to start a day!!! :)))
- I saw it on youtube a while ago but never quite knew of it as a podcast heheh.
- This was a one time publication by one person, not quite an organization. But she is an organization on her own! :))
- Nadine is 20 from Canda and she’s an amateur video maker on youtube but she rocks!
Enigma. “Tamerair” . Sadeness. 10 May 2006. Tamerair. 6 Feb 2008. <http://youtube.com/watch?v=CLi-bELb_M0&feature=PlayList&p=6FA03C01595B3C11&index=1>
- It’s about: spirituality, fantasy - the culpable and the innocent. It’s about a man’s dreams that he was achieving spirituality in the middle ages but he finds something shocking at the end… the ‘truth’, perhaps.
- It appeals to me because it’s set in the middle ages and the video was thoroughly captivating with special effects and it’s artistic creativeness. The music was relaxing as well.
- It is not often published because this is a song by Enigma and Enigma is not as famous as they used to be. They may be uploaded at other times too but probably only by other fans of Enigma.
- I’ve heard of the song before but haven’t quite seen the video or understood the language because it was in French and Latin, and so I looked this up and found both the song, the video, and the lyrics that goes with it.
- Tamerair loves Enigma :P, as he has spent time uploading their music videos, their edited music videos, and even looked up the lyrics and he was probably the translator of the lyrics as well!
For a test I could do to evaluate my final podcast, I could probably consider in mind all of these following things:
>> How clear it is
>> What message it tries to send
>> How powerful the message was presented
>> Was it original? Or just another cliche?
>> Could it have been more artistic and imaginative than what it is?
>> How much effort was spent on it
>> Did the author have fun in the making process?
My Podcast (#1, my first post!)
January 22, 2008
We tried to make an account on iTunes so we could upload our podcasts but the program kept asking us for a payment method so we had to give it up. We then resorted to finding a podcast that interests us and list the ideas we have for our individual podcasts. The criteria I will be graded on is A, investigate.
The podcast that interested me was:
Name: Stayin’ Alive
Subject: Irony, sad fate
Artist: Happy Tree Friends
My own ideas (just ideas):
Animals, travelling, interesting facts, growing up, what it’s like to be a teen in my place, discrimination, goals, music, nature, crime, moving, school, friends and ‘friendship’, love, how it feels to help others, smiling, trying to be more wise, wishes, hopes.
